By the 1930s, Royal had long since grown to be one of the leading typewriter companies, firmly established along with Underwood and Remington as one of the Big Three. The Desk Model is an appealing updated version of the Royal No. 10, known as one of the best manual machines ever made. This new model is distinguished by its metal side panels instead of beveled glass. Like many Royals, this one features the very durable black paint that makes it appear new even after decades of use.
